"Y2K" - aka the "millennium bug" - was the common term to denote all manner of things that did and didn't occur when the clock hit midnight in your town on December 31, 1999. What did this mean to you? In a nut shell, because computers couldn't differentiate between the year 1900 and 2000, it's possible that your home computer and certain computers used in city, state and national government didn't work correctly. |

This meant nothing more than your lights might have flickered. Or...it could have meant that fire, police and medical and every other system you can think of may go haywire. Anyone who said they knew what would happen...didn't. And, because the world we live in has become so interconnected -- there are way too many variables to even begin to guess what's going to happen next. |
